Medical Surveillance Examinations

These examinations are required as part of company policy to keep in line with government health standards in work environments where employees are exposed to toxic chemicals or other substances that may pose a health risk.

The purpose of the medical surveillance examination is early detection of work-related medical illnesses to ensure measures are taken to prevent serious disability or death. The certified occupational medical practitioner (OMP)is responsible for notifying the employee, and for arranging appropriate treatment and follow-up care to treat any work-related illnesses. The company is required to take appropriate action to minimise the exposure of its employees to hazardous agents. This can be done by:

  • Rotating jobs
  • Installing special engineering devices
  • Improving ventilation
  • Using safer chemicals
  • Providing employees with protective equipment

Our expert knowledge of the industry provides us with the experience to competently assist our clients with the best possible medical surveillance examination in this industry.
